The Boston Foundation Completes GreenLight Challenge
A $400,000 grant from The Boston Foundation, awarded September 29, 2005, completed the challenge issued to the GreenLight Fund in December 2004 by Jim Pallotta to match a $500,000, 5-year contribution made by the Tudor Foundation. Others who contributed to the match included Joel Cutler and David Fialkow of General Catalyst Partners.
The GreenLight Seed Fund, now at more than $1 million dollars, will provide start-up funding for the organizations the GreenLight Fund brings to Boston to address critical needs here.
"This funding from The Boston Foundation, as well as the Tudor Foundation, provides tremendous validation for the GreenLight Fund’s work, as well as the financial catalyst to bring exceptional, results-oriented nonprofit innovations to Boston," said Co-Founder and GreenLight Board Chair John Simon.
