Imari Paris Jeffries Joins Friends of the Children-Boston

Imari brings extensive nonprofit leadership experience and commitment to working with children to his role as Executive Director of Friends-Boston. Prior to joining Friends-Boston, Imari spent six years as the Director of Programs and Partnerships for the Massachusetts Service Alliance. His commitment to service began long before that, however. Imari began his career by serving in the U.S. Armed Services during the First Gulf War. Upon his return, Imari worked as a Teacher and Team Leader at Jumpstart and then became the AmeriCorps Program Director for the BELL Foundation. Additionally, Imari has served as the Chair of the African American Federation of Greater Boston, has been a member of the Development Leadership Network, and was a LEAD Boston Fellow in 2003. Imari has a BA in Africana Studies and History, an MA in Education, and an MA in American Studies from the University of Massachusetts. With his leadership, passion, and experience, Imari is an exciting addition to Friends-Boston.
