Leveraging Philanthropic Investment
The GreenLight Fund gives engaged philanthropists a way to make a vital difference and produce a legacy of social change in their own community.
GreenLight selects exceptional social innovations with high potential to strengthen the community and change the lives of Boston’s most vulnerable residents. The GreenLight Fund then supports organizations as an on-the-ground partner invested in the early and long-term success of the organization.
Philanthropists’ investments through GreenLight are leveraged by funds from the GreenLight Seed Fund, GreenLight’s ability to attract additional investment, and our ongoing commitment to the support and sustainability of organizations.
In addition to financial partnership, investors engage as board members, give strategic advice, and provide connections to help new organizations build a community of local champions and supporters. They provide their expertise, creativity, contacts, and vision to build strong organizations that make a difference.
The GreenLight Seed Fund
The Seed Fund pools donors’ funds and provides the earliest stage start-up funding that organizations need for a strong launch. This way of investing allows philanthropists to support multiple well-vetted, promising social ventures in Boston.
Direct Investment
The GreenLight Fund also provides donors the opportunity to invest directly in the exceptional programs supported by GreenLight. These donors are key catalysts in the launch and life of GreenLight organizations, and this type of investment provides great opportunity for engagement.
